An independent platform for journalism, analysis, and reflection from a Christian conservative perspective, committed to truth, freedom, and public responsibility.
Editorial | Meandros da Política
As we enter this new chapter, Meandros da Política embraces a clearer editorial identity.
We openly and transparently affirm our Christian conservative perspective. Not as an instrument of partisan activism, nor as an extension of political or religious interests, but as a platform for analysis, opinion, and information grounded in principles we consider essential to Brazilian public life.
We live in a time when many media outlets conceal their convictions behind claims of absolute neutrality, while others sacrifice their commitment to facts in favor of political activism. We choose neither path.
We have principles. And we are committed to reality.
Our editorial philosophy is rooted in the belief that values such as truth, responsibility, human dignity, freedom, respect for life, the strengthening of the family, the rule of law, fiscal responsibility, and respect for democratic institutions are not obstacles to public debate. Rather, they are essential conditions for meaningful and constructive democratic engagement.
Meandros da Política does not claim to speak on behalf of political parties, candidates, or governments. Nor do we presume to represent all churches, Christians, or conservatives. Our commitment is to a clearly defined editorial perspective, intellectual independence, and honesty.
This identity is also shaped by the personal and professional journey of our founder, Rodini Netto, a professional journalist since 2008, registered in the Brazilian state of Paraná under DRT-PR No. 7294.
Having experienced left-wing ideological activism and participated in the student movement, he gradually developed a political perspective grounded in Christian faith, journalism, theological reflection, historical studies, and an understanding of public administration.
However, this is not a platform devoted to celebrating an individual’s biography. It is a platform with a defined editorial position.
What matters moving forward is making clear to our readers the values through which we examine Brazilian politics.
We believe in journalism that respects facts. We believe in opinion that openly acknowledges its convictions without distorting reality. And we believe in political analysis that neither submits to those currently in power nor embraces the notion that the mistakes of political allies should be excused while those of opponents should be magnified.
We do not believe in intellectual submission.
For us, being conservative does not mean opposing every form of change. It means understanding that change must be responsible, morally examined, and institutionally sound. It means recognizing that certain foundations of civilization should not be discarded for the sake of ideological trends or political convenience.
Being Christian, within our editorial perspective, does not mean exploiting faith for electoral purposes. It means recognizing that the moral dimension of public life matters, that truth matters, that justice matters, and that no political leader stands above the principles they claim to uphold.
This is why Meandros da Política is committed to rigorous criticism, including when it concerns individuals or groups with whom we may share certain values.
We do not believe that consistency can be selective.
Brazil needs a more serious public debate. It needs respected institutions, a free press, responsible leadership, and, above all, citizens capable of thinking beyond political loyalties and partisan rivalries.
This editorial is not a declaration of automatic political allegiance. It is a declaration of identity.
Meandros da Política will continue to follow the facts, interpret developments, and express clear opinions about the direction of our country. We will do so with openly acknowledged convictions, without abandoning our journalistic responsibilities.
Our commitment is to Brazil, to freedom, to democracy, to factual truth, and to the values we consider indispensable to the moral and institutional renewal of public life.
We do not seek to be recognized for our loyalty to political leaders, but for the consistency between the principles we defend and the standards we demand of others.
This is the path we have chosen.
